BMW Surround view camera system

Surround View includes the camera-based functions Top View, Side View and rear view camera. Cameras in the exterior mirrors and a rear view camera provide a 270° view around the vehicle.
Top View displays the areas on the side of the car for more convenient manoeuvring. The Side View makes navigating areas with low visibility like exits or confusing intersections safer. Two digital cameras on the left and right of the front of the car capture the traffic situation in front of the vehicle. This enables early detection of oncoming traffic so that the driver can react appropriately. The Side View function is automatically deactivated when the car reaches 15 km/h. The driver can then choose to activate the rear view camera, Top View or Side View(optional extra at checkout).
